Conceptualizing Generous Scholarship

In an era of neoliberalism and the COVID-19 pandemic, it is imperative to revisit meaning, value, praxis scholarship. This article documents exploration emerging concept generous scholarship, a compelling yet ill-defined undertheorized construct that inspires our scholarly practices. We analyze extant literature about scholarship related constructs address three guiding research questions: What scholarship? are its actions? implications for life academy? A descriptive theory-generating design led robust conceptual framework involving five principles scholarship: social praxis, reciprocity, mindedness, heartedness, agency. Generous intentional, collegial approach helps mitigate sense isolation depletion energy often associated with managerial, production-oriented academic contexts. argue individuals institutions embrace may attract nurture vibrant cadre academics, replenished in mind spirit.
